Its extremely easy to get overwhelmed when facing stress, especially when everyone around you is experiencing it too. Here are some helpful reminders to make sure you take care of yourself so that you could be the best you to take care of others.

1. Slow Down

Sure there could be some urgency to getting work done, and of course you want to do your part, but it is extremely important not to overexert yourself. If you find yourself in a situation where you are making excuses; "yeah but I need to do ___ because ___ before _____." Take a deep breath and live in the moment for a few seconds, and return back.

2. Walk Away

Those who love you will understand, sometimes people just need a minute. You dont need to meditate, or get zenned out, just a few seconds alone to listen to a song or a few minutes of relaxation could be all it takes to prep you to get back in your zone.

3. Ask for Help

Leave your ego home, its time to serve yourself up a big slice of humble pie and work together as a team. Need a second lifter, help moving something, or just someone to talk to? Seek out a positive person and let them lend you some energy; they may even end up having needed it more than you.

4. Stay Positive

No amount of wishful thinking can un-think the present, live in the moment and make the best of it. Make work into a game, compete with friends and family members over who can help out the most, make it fun for kids if they are helping out as well. Remember a moment in the past where you felt stressed, and remember that you made it through that, because you're here now.

5. Stick Together

Through and through human beings thrive on social situations. Its easy to snap at those you love or get overwhelmed and feel guilty you can't do more. Remember those who have helped you and why, chances are you're a wonderful loved person. If you're even reading this you already want to better your awareness of your emotions, so kudos to you!
