Your puppy is the joy of your household, but not when they jump all over guests and tear up all your stuff.  So much for being your "best friend".  Thankfully it's the Cedar Valley Humane Society to the rescue this Spring with Dog Obedience Classes.

With KDAT's Pet Project, we work closely with the Cedar Valley Humane Society, and we've gotta tell you, the dogs they bring in are some of the best behaved dogs ever.  The staff over there really knows how to love and care for our furry friends.  So when they say they're offering these classes, we're all ears, floppy or not.

Classes will start at the end of April, with two seven-week sessions, either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The class will cover focus, sit, down, stay, stand, walking on a loose leash, heel, and recall. Classes are an hour long and will be held at the Cedar Valley Humane Society. Classes are limited to just 10 openings, and dogs must be at least 5 months old with current rabies vaccinations. The cost of the class includes a Martingale training collar, with all proceeds benefitting homeless animals at the Humane Society. Classes will be taught by Gary Harrington, an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer and AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. This will be his ninth year teaching at the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
