A German film company is set to produce a two-part television mini-series about Anne Frank to air in 2015, the 70th anniversary of her death in a Nazi concentration camp.

Constantin Films promises a “more modern approach to the tragic tale,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Frank, a German-born Jew whose family fled to the Netherlands, died in March 1945 at the age of 15. She became the most famous young victim of the Holocaust after her diary was published posthumously.

Her ‘Diary of a Young Girl’ relays her experiences as she and her family hid from Nazis in the Netherlands during World War II. It has been translated into dozens of languages, and her story has been told several times on screen, including a 1959 film that won a trio of Academy Awards. The new German production will show Frank’s transformation from an exuberant and lively young girl prior to being forced into hiding to the pensive teenager she later became.

Several other projects are also scheduled to coincide with the sad anniversary. Oscar-nominated director Ari Folman recently announced he will write and direct an animated film about Frank’s life.
