Annual ‘Cans Film Festival’ Coming This Saturday!

We all love going to the show to catch a movie.  It's great for date nights, family outings, or even just to get out of the house and escape reality.  We LOVE our movies! What we don't love unfortunately is the cost sometimes.  Thankfully, there's one film fest where we avoid that concern, while helping our community, and it's this Saturday at Wehrenberg Theaters.

Make sure to join KDAT and the Salvation Army for Wehrenberg's 28th Annual "Cans Film Festival".  From 10a-5p, bring in 5 cans (or other non-perishable food items) to donate, and see any movies before 5pm FREE. Bring in 15 items, and see any movie before 5pm FREE, AND receive a pass for another day! All donations will help stock the shelves of the local Salvation Army Food Pantry.

It's a fantastic event, that has grown year over year seeing some amazing crowds, and huge amounts of donations.  Last year was a record year, collecting over 20200 cans.  But once again, we're looking to break that record this year!  So plan to come join us.

By the way, while we'll take any food items, here's something to consider.  The theater has been  talking to the Salvation Army to see what they really need, to make sure they're not overloaded with, say, green beans.  The Salvation Army has revealed they can really use canned meats (like tuna and chicken), canned fruits, soups, and canned veggies.  However, they do tend to get overloaded with green beans, so maybe avoid those, or at least mix it up.  However, again, they won't reject anything, and every item helps in big ways!
