The transformation of roads in the core of downtown Cedar Rapids from one-way to two-way traffic continues on Friday.

2nd Avenue from 6th Street SW to 1st Street SE will re-open as a two-way today (9/11/15).

The current plan is for work to begin on 3rd Avenue next week in preparation for its changeover to a two-way. Closures will begin at the corner of 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue SE and slowly work their way across the river to 6th Street SW. There's currently no timetable for the 3rd Avenue change to two-way traffic.
