A Linn-Mar High School nurse is being investigated by police for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a 16 year old student.

According to the Gazette, police say 46 year-old Angela Beik told two UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital nurses about her interactions with the student, which reportedly occurred in October 2017 and in March 2018. That conversation prompted them to report Beik to authorities.

The Gazette reports that Linn-Mar Community School District has placed Beik on paid leave and is conducting an internal investigation.

"At the time of her alleged interaction with a student, Beik was employed by both St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids and the Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion.

According to the warrant, Beik told the nurses she had a “make out session” with a Linn-Mar student in October 2017 and then had sexual contact with the teenager in March 2018, which she reportedly “described in great detail.”

It was after DHS opened an investigation of Beik around March 18 that Marion police obtained her phone via a search warrant, which furthered the criminal investigation.
