If you believe the 2016 Presidential election seems to be making everyone a little kooky, you're not alone! While Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic nomination last night in Philadelphia, Donald Trump traveled from Davenport to Cedar Rapids to speak at the Double Tree Convention Center downtown.

Trump spoke to a crowd of about 3,000 inside the hall according to the Gazette.

Meanwhile, a couple dozen of Trump's detractors gathered across the street on the opposite side of 1st Ave. waving signs, chanting and protesting.

I believe that whomever you vote for, the fact that you are involved in the election process speaks volumes of your patriotism, and your duty as a an American. And I applaud and respect you for that.

But I think I can make a case that both sides can be a little over the top when it comes to displaying the fervor of their beliefs. The photo above shows a Trump supporter seeking a parking spot prior the the event. It is unclear what the mounted deer head on the trunk of his car has to do with democracy, the campaign, or anything for that matter. To me it's just bizarre.

And now look below for a quick video drive-by of the protesters on 1st Ave. including the person dressed in a chicken suit! Again, I have no idea what that has to do with the election. Wouldn't that be more appropriate for a Halloween costume? Silly.

Bottom line: I can't wait for November 9th to arrive.
