Attorneys for Chris Soules filed for the dismissal of charges on Monday afternoon. Soules is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a Class D felony. 66-year-old Kenny Mosher died when his tractor was rear-ended by a pickup being driven by Soules back on April 24th.

In the motion, lawyers argued that Soules did NOT violate Iowa code for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident because he both called 911 after the accident happened and identified himself during that phone call. You can listen to the 911 call below.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's office did not comment on the motion for dismissal yesterday.  Soules was released on $10,000 bond after he appeared in court the day after the crash.
