‘Slender Man’ Meme Finally Becomes a Movie in First Bizarre Trailer
“But wait,” you say, “wasn’t there already a Slender Man movie in 2016?” Well, yes and no: You’re probably thinking of the terrible horror flick The Bye-Bye Man, or maybe you’re remembering the HBO documentary Beware the Slender Man, which examined the internet phenomenon that inspired two 12-year-old girls to attempt murder. Slender Man is the first official — or as official as you can be when based on a creepypasta meme — film about the sinister internet boogeyman, although if you didn’t know the title of the movie, you might think this trailer is actually for a fan-made sequel to The Ring.
Rare ‘Breakfast Club’ Deleted Scene Takes You Inside the Girls’ Bathroom
Over three decades after The Breakfast Club first charmed audiences, John Hughes’ high school classic still resonates with young viewers despite the growing generational divide. The years since its initial release have proven that The Breakfast Club is timeless, so it’s about damn time The Criterion Collection gave Hughes’ film the prestige upgrade treatment. ‘The Last Jedi’: Mark Hamill’s Second Role and Tom Hardy’s Cut Cameo Revealed
If, for some non-sensical reason, you have yet to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, then you should probably close this window ASAP because there are some POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD. If you are an intellectual human who has already seen Rian Johnson’s sequel (more than once, no doubt), then feel free to read on for the low-down on a couple of cameos — including that heavily-rumored Tom Hardy appearance, which was (sadly) cut from the film.
Netflix’s ‘Bright’-Themed Holiday Fireplace Is Actual Trash
You’d think that spending $90 million on something like Bright (with $3.5 million of that going to Max Friggin’ Landis) would be embarrassing enough for Netflix, especially after all the third-degree burns they suffered from last night’s onslaught of negative reviews. But apparently the fine folks at Netflix are masochists: Not only have they already ordered a sequel to David Ayer’s buddy-cop-orc movie, but they’ve taken their self-own to the next level with a Bright-inspired holiday “fireplace.”
‘48 Hrs.’ Remake Coming From ‘Good Time’ Directing Duo and Jerrod Carmichael
Today’s news is…well, it’s not great, Bob! Between the FCC repealing net neutrality and Disney’s acquisition of Fox (which means good things for your favorite characters, but bad things for filmmaking and studio employees), headlines are pretty upsetting right now. We’ll take whatever sliver of optimism we can get, especially when it’s something as surprising as Josh and Benny Safdie directing a remake of 48 Hrs.
Morgan Spurlock Admits His Own History of Sexual Misconduct: ‘I Am Part of the Problem’
As allegations of sexual misconduct continue to accumulate, and the misogynistic histories of some of Hollywood’s most powerful men are exposed by their brave victims, it’s surprising to see something of a reversal disrupt what has become a daily pattern: In a lengthy statement published to Twitter, documentarian Morgan Spurlock has called himself out as “part of the problem” by revealing his own history of sexual misconduct and taking responsibility for contributing to a “world of disrespect.”
