The last Titans game of the season became a really special event as it was the first time my son joined me on the job.  We had so much fun bonding, and even caught a football. We couldn't wait to get down on the field after the game to get autographs, which we did, and ended up with some other autographed gear too. But I don't know what to do with it.

Normally, when you get something autographed, it becomes a prized possession.  In the case of the ball, it certainly is.  My son looks at it once a twice a day, as it represents a very cherished memory and is just cool.  But this other item, well, not so much. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

We headed out on the field after the game with our ball, but didn't have a sharpie.  Luckily a really nice guy let us borrow his.  In a small window of time we were able to get autographs and pictures with some of the team's big names, like Brian Pray, Nick Hauge, Robert Brown, and Xavie Jackson.  My sons eye's were huge with excitement getting to meet these pro athletes.  (I think he's still a little red from his photo with one of the Titan Dolls).

As were were leaving the field, there was a played from the opposing team, who we just beat with only the 2nd or 3rd shut-out in league history, calling my son over. My son was in such a daze he didn't hear him, but I did.  So we went to meet the player, and he gave us another autographed item... his cleats.

Ummm, what?  Of course my son was very grateful to the player, albeit a bit confused.  I don't know who this player was, and I'm not sure I want his shoes, even with his autograph.  I just don't get it.  They're too small for me anyway.

I know you don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but is it wrong for me to want to throw them away, or minimally put them in a garage sale?  They look barely used.  At least they don't stink.
