It's been quite a while since the Paramount Theatre in downtown Cedar Rapids has hosted a show, but that's going to change soon! The Paramount announced yesterday that 'Beatles vs. Stones' is coming to town on September 20th at 7 p.m.

'Beatles vs. Stones - A Musical Showdown' is all about a rock and roll rivalry that never played out on stage. The Paramount's website says:

"For decades, the battle has raged: Beatles or Stones? Through their heyday, fans accused London’s Rolling Stones of stealing ideas -- even entire albums – from their Liverpool counterparts. At the same time, the Beatles secretly envied the Stones’ “bad boy” image and attitude, often copying their style. Both bands are unmistakably great, scoring an array of hits that changed musical history, but only one can be the best."

The tribute bands participating in the concert are Abbey Road and Satisfaction. This show actually sold out at the Paramount last year.

Tickets for 'Beatles vs. Stones' will go on sale this Friday, July 31st at 10 a.m. They start at just $23 apiece. You can get the link and more information HERE.

According to KCRG, this show is part of the VenuWorks' 'Return to Live' plan. The CR Events Live website says:

"To ensure the health and well-being of employees and guests, we have implemented new policies and procedures based on best practices in our industry and in compliance with State and County public health recommendations."
