I find it pretentious enough when celebrities distance themselves from their most famous projects. But their names, too?

As you know, either from my blogs or on-air, I'm a big fan of Hall & Oates, so much that I occasionally get labeled "obsessed" with them. You're probably thinking exactly that right now, in fact. I will never stop being a fan, even after some interesting statements from them lately.

Apparently, they don't particularly care to be referenced as "Hall & Oates" and would prefer to be known by their full names, "Daryl Hall & John Oates". Not just because of granola companies who can goofily repurpose their name to sell their product.  John Oates just thinks it sounds generally dorky, like the name of a "law firm or a doctor's office or something".

I'm hoping this is more in jest than serious, and I go both ways on the name, but if you want me to altogether stop calling them Hall & Oates, well...

Incidentally, these guys have some "insane" music to workout to in case you're training for a 5K or something. Speaking of which, we have one coming up June 20-21. So get your "Private Eyes" onto the web for the details and registration for the Insane Inflatable 5K sponsored by GoDaddy.
