I had the most amazing thing happen to me the Sunday night, and it set up the perfect start to my Monday. It may seem trivial to you, but for me it was a pretty exciting event, and one that literally left me jumping for joy. Before we took our family vacation, my wife cleaned out the car, bringing all the CDs and whatever else in. You know how it is; stuff just seems to accumulate in the car, and after a while, it just no longer needs to be there. Now that vacation was over, instead of throwing all of it back in the car, we decided to go through it.  And that's when I found it. After well over a year of looking and being convinced someone stole it out of my car, I found my Mumford and Sons "Sigh No More" CD.

The crazy part is that the case for the CD was in my car, while the CD was in the family car, in a case that should never have been in that car to begin with, which is why I never looked there. All that doesn't matter now, as the CD was found.

So why did it matter so much? A couple of reasons. First off, I never was a fan of Bluegrass, but there was something about Mumford and Sons when they first broke on to the scene, and this disc was their major label debut.  They had such a different sound, and it was refreshing. I was absorbed into the CD. Then I moved on, until Taylor Swift covered "White Blank Page" in a BBC live lounge special.  The conviction and emotion she put into the already pain strung song roped me right back into that CD.

Flash forward a few years later and "I Will Wait" became big. I went to find the CD, but couldn't. I kept looking over the next year or so on and off. Then it was announced they'd be in Waverly, and I literally tore some internal panels off the car to see if somehow it had fallen inside, but was distraught at no discovery. But again, all that is in the past, as I have it back now. It's like being reunited with an old friend.

So there you have it. Some times its those little lost treasures you find at the most random times that bring you such joy, like money in an old coat or pair of jeans. To me, this was one of those, and I was so giddy at my discovery.  I didn't make it to the Waverly show, and in full disclosure, I'm turned off by how they've abandoned that sound that made them so unique. I'll support them anyway.
