Back to School definitely feels a little different this year, but kids still need school supplies and backpacks to carry them in.

You can help out by taking part in the Bikers for Backpacks Ride this Saturday, August 8th!  All donations will go directly to students and teachers.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. in North Liberty at J&A Tap. The meeting spot will be in the parking lot in front of the bar. The cost is $20 per bike or car. You can also donate a backpack of school supplies. For riders, the cost is just $10.

Again, all the money raised will go to students and teachers.

If you can't make the ride but still want to donate, you can drop off your backpack at the Chrome Horse in Cedar Rapids or J&A Tap in North Liberty.

The plan is to have kickstands up and out at 11 a.m. The ride will take off from J&A Tap. Stops will include Wild Hogs, lunch at Kulas, a 3rd stop in Stone City, and the ride will end at the Chrome Horse.

There will also be live music at the Chrome from Well Lit. Riders will be able to sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy some cold drinks and enjoy the music after the ride. If you ask me, the Chrome Horse has one of the best patios in Eastern Iowa and it's a great place to watch a band.

The weather looks perfect and organizers are hoping for a huge turnout.
