Blairs Ferry Road Construction To Occur This Weekend

Starting tonight, a busy intersection in Northeast Cedar Rapids is closing for the weekend while it undergoes some repair and construction.

Starting at 10 p.m., Blairs Ferry Road at C Avenue will be closed for the addition of left turn lanes. New traffic signals will also be installed to those left turn lanes. These additions will help alleviate traffic at this busy intersection, especially during peak commute hours. It's also the hope that crashes will be decreased in number with the new left turn lanes installed.

Detours will be in place all weekend, coming off of 380 where you'll be rerouted south down Rockwell Drive and onto Collins Road, then back to Blairs Ferry Road by Northland Avenue.

From Marion, you'll be directed south on Northland Avenue, to Collins Road and then return Blairs Ferry via Rockwell Drive.

Everything is expected to be completed by 6 a.m. Monday, just in time for the workday rush to begin your week.
