It was a fun and delicious day last Sunday at the Marriott as I stopped out to enjoy the "Blues 'n Buffett Chili Challenge'.

This event is put on every year as a friendly and charitable competition between the Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Club and the Linn County Blues Society. Proceeds of nearly $12,000 were raised to benefit the HD Youth Center and Community Health Free Clinic, we all got to taste over 25 varieties of amazing chili and enjoy some great live music, so everyone was a winner.

Congratulations to these folks who took home awards:

The beneficiaries even brought their own entries and I loved the one from HD Youth Center. Unfortunately, the Community Health Free Clinic ran out of their offering before I had a chance to try any. I'm sure it was delicious.

Our friends Jeff & Judy Coyle from Q-Dog's BBQ Company were there with their famous white chicken chili:

These were just a couple of the great entries at the 2018 "Blues 'n Buffett Chili Challenge". Thanks to all the hosts, sponsors and attendees for making it great. Last but not least, thanks to my co-workers Courtlin, Ryan Brainard and Jaymz Larson as well as the other celebrity judges for volunteering their time.
