Lifetime announced this week that the network will air a biopic in the fall on the late actress Brittany Murphy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the two-hour made-for-TV movie, titled 'The Brittany Murphy Story,' will delve into the early life of the famous blonde, her relationship with her mother and the years leading up to her death.

Brittany will be portrayed by Amanda Fuller, best known for her roles in the TV series 'Last Man Standing' and 'Grey's Anatomy,' and alongside her is Sherilyn Fenn ('Twin Peaks,' 'Gilmore Girls') as her mother Sharon Murphy.

Lifetime hasn't revealed any of its source material for the script, but a rep for Sharon has said she was not involved in the project in any way.

Brittany is most known for her film roles, including 'Clueless,' 'Girl, Interrupted' and '8 Mile.' She was 32 years old when she died in December of 2009 from pneumonia and other causes.

The biopic will air on Lifetime on Saturday, Sept. 6.
