Kirk Korver, the younger brother of Cleveland Cavs' guard Kyle Korver, passed away Tuesday. He was just 27 years old.

Kirk Korver starred at Pella High School and was named third team all-state his senior year by The Des Moines Register. He averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds that season. He went on to play his college ball at the University of Missouri-Kansas City for three seasons scoring nearly 600 career points.

Kyle Korver left the Cavs last Friday to come back to Iowa to be with his ailing brother. He returned to the team Tuesday, but will not be in uniform tonight for their game against Toronto.

Kirk Korver is survived by his parents and his three siblings. All four Korver brothers played basketball at the college level or higher. Kyle at Creighton and now 15 years in the NBA, Klayton at Drake, and Kaleb at Creighton.
