Cedar Rapids’ 10 Safest Neighborhoods

This past weekend was a scary one and a sad one in Cedar Rapids. Two young people were killed in separate shootings, and another was injured. That got us thinking about the safest areas of Cedar Rapids.

21-year old Brandon Johnson was killed Saturday night and an unnamed 16-year old male was injured after a shooting in the street in northeast Cedar Rapids. 16-year old Kenyauta Keith of Cedar Rapids has been arrested and charged with the crimes.

Details are still sketchy on exactly what happened Friday afternoon in southeast Cedar Rapids, where 15-year old Senquez Jackson was killed.

What seems to be increasingly clear is that gun violence in Cedar Rapids continues to rise and the safest areas of our city are being sought more and more. Here are the 10 neighborhoods that Neighborhoodscout says are the safest in Cedar Rapids.
