A Monday evening house explosion nearly leveled a Cedar Rapids home and sent one woman to the hospital.

Multiple crews from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to the explosion at 1371 20th Ave. SW around 6:30 this evening.

CBS 2 reports a woman who was inside the home at the time was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, suffering from burns. KWWL reports her burns were severe. She was the only one inside the house when the explosion occurred.

You can see the sheer power of the explosion by the damage left behind. It also downed power lines in the area.

Fire crews believe a gas leak may be to blame for the explosion, though that has not yet been confirmed.
