For someone who works in radio, I have been to a relatively small number of concerts. Our Uptown Friday Nights events at the McGrath Amphitheatre are always amazing and I try to attend a few each summer. Live, local music for just $5. If you've never attended, we're giving you and your friends the chance to check it out for free. Sample it on us first, and you'll want to come back again.

I'm finally getting a chance to see some of the major artists I've waited my whole life for. I have a number of "bucket list" concerts, but I'm not one to go "road-tripping" around to see artists play, so when they come here I take advantage.

Last year, it was Chicago at the McGrath Amphitheatre. I rank that as the best concert I've ever been to so far.  I'll check another one off my bucket list on September 18 when Bryan Adams plays the U.S. Cellular Center! You can win tickets here by signing up to be a KDAT VIP member. You don't want to miss this one. As with Chicago, I've always been a fan and grew up with his music. Plus, I'm not saying I'm psychic, but as you might remember, he was on my Cedar Rapids wish list that I posted recently. You can check out the link below if you missed it.

I've seen Def Leppard live as well, but not REO Speedwagon. They are touring together and coming to Cedar Rapids this fall and I look forward to it. That leaves two artists I have yet to see in person: Bon Jovi, and the act who was also at the top of my Cedar Rapids wishlist, Hall & Oates. I may never get to cross these off, but that's what I thought about Bryan Adams, so I'm crossing my fingers.
