Cedar Rapids Man Killed in Weekend Crash

The Cedar Rapids Police Department has released the name of the person killed in a Saturday afternoon accident on the city's southeast side.

18-year-old Jacob Lee Markwell of Cedar Rapids was killed Saturday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving was involved in a rollover on Otis Road S.E., near Cedar Valley Park.

Cedar Rapids Police and Fire were called to a single-vehicle accident in the 2300 block of Otis Road SE, just before 1 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a full-size pickup had been involved in a rollover. Markwell, the only occupant of the truck had been ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
