It is home to fantastic live music, comedy and theater productions all year long, along with our own hometown symphony orchestra. It has also earned a distinction on the National Register of Historic Places. The Paramount Theatre is one of many monuments to our community's recovery from disaster following the 2008 flood. Now, it has been ranked among the state's 10 best live music venues, according to the website Best Things Iowa.

The Paramount came in ninth and joins some other corridor venues in the rankings, including the Mill and the Englert Theatre in Iowa City.

The sites were chosen based, in part, on the intimate ambience they provide. You cannot argue with that. I love this picture of me at the meet and greet with Jim Brickman on Christmas weekend, 2012 during his show shortly after the Paramount had reopened. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen and the theatre simply amazed me. I've been back a few times and each time, my reaction is the same.

See some more pictures below if you've never been inside, and make a point to take in a show there the next chance you get.
