He was an all-state pro-style quarterback in high school and he'll play football at the University of Iowa.

Cedar Rapids Xavier quarterback Bryce Schulte, son of the longtime coach, Duane Schulte tweeted his news Tuesday morning:

Schulte, a 1st team All-State selection at quarterback during his senior year this past fall, led his team to the Class 3A semifinals and an 11-1 record. He holds the Cedar Rapids metro record with a total of 58 career touchdown passes and accounted for more than 4,300 passing yards and over 5,100 total yards in his high school years.

Schulte told Iowa Rivals he “... went to Iowa's camp as a tight end, so I got a feel for what it was like and I also played on the defensive side of the ball this year as a rover linebacker, so I'm somewhat familiar with those positions.”

Schulte's days as a quarterback could be over. If they are, it was quite a career. Here's the highlight reel from his senior season, via HUDL.

Iowa has often made magic with walk-ons and I think this guy will be hard to keep off the field.
