We don't say it enough, but at 104-5 KDAT, we thank you for making us your Listen-At-Work choice, and your weekend destination on the radio dial, the web, through the free app, and on your Alexa-enabled devices.

One of my favorite parts of the workday is being the guy who gets to bust out the wayback machine and bring you a full hour of music from the '80s, weekdays at Noon with the Retro Cafe. I will never outgrow that decade or its music. It's the best.

So, imagine my excitement when I heard about a tour heading out on the road around the U.S. this summer. The "Lost '80s Live" tour is going to feature acts such as A Flock of Seagulls, Wang Chung, The RomanticsNaked Eyes and more...ALL ON ONE BILL!?

They've booked a few dates so far, but with a lot of open spots, I see no reason they can't do more. I'm not trying to use my influence or anything here (mainly because I don't really have any) but we should absolutely bring this to town, and I would suggest at the lovely McGrath Amphitheatre in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Believe me, I have already heard from a few of the skeptics. These artists are too "old"
now!  That hasn't stopped soooo many acts from the same decade (or even earlier: the still-vibrant-at-83 Frankie Valli brought the house down at the U.S. Cellular Center last month) from still taking the show on the road, maintaining their awesomeness, and keeping the music timeless.

So, what do you think? Should we do this, Cedar Rapids?!
