Why did it take me so long to figure this out?!

Yesterday, Brain and I had our final Listener Lunch for the month of July at QDogs BBQ in Marion. I decided that I just HAD to get the Buffalo chicken rangoons as my final meal, and I paired them with some French fries. As delicious as it was, on top of the appetizers we had, I was unable to finish my meal. That meant I got to take home leftovers, which is my favorite thing ever!

There was only one problem: part of the deliciousness of a Buffalo chicken rangoon is the crispy outer shell. I knew that if I reheated them in the microwave, they were going to be soggy and sad. I decided to take my chances and reheat them in the oven to see if it would make a difference.

IT DID.

Not only were my rangoons and fries crispy and golden, but they were almost as good as they were when I had them fresh in the restaurant! I take home leftover fries and nachos and other fried goodies ALL THE TIME, but I've just been accepting that they will be slightly disappointing when I reheat them in the microwave. NOT ANYMORE! My microwave is dead to me. If I knew that all I had to do was preheat my oven to 450 degrees and stick the food in there for 3 minutes, I could've enjoyed so many more meals in the last 26 years! My life has been changed.

So the moral of the story is this: next time you want to reheat your leftovers in the microwave, stop and consider your options. The oven will take slightly longer, but it will be worth it in the end.
