I took my very first trip to Nashville this weekend, and I loved it so much I almost didn't come back.

Have you ever visited a place and immediately knew that you belonged there? That's exactly how I felt walking the streets of downtown Nashville.

When we arrived on Thursday night, we immediately headed to Broadway Street and started trying out different bars. The minute we walked into Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, I was overcome by this feeling that I can't really explain. The environment and the vibe of the place was just perfect, and the girl on stage singing was absolutely amazing. Honestly, I'm surprised she's not famous already. I later realized that just about EVERYONE is amazing. Every musician that I saw over the weekend was crazy talented, and it made me feel so hopeful. Like, all of these different musicians have come to this one part of the country to do what they love, and most of them share the same dreams. It's so wonderful to see such a large community of people doing something they love.

Aside from bar hopping on Broadway, we also visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and The Johnny Cash Museum, ate at places like Acme Feed & Seed and Five Points Pizza, and visited some other places like B.B. King's Blues Club and Santa's Pub. Santa's Pub was BY FAR the coolest bar I've ever been to in my life. It's literally a trailer that's covered in Christmas decorations. It's a very low-key karaoke joint that accepts cash only and only serves beer, and it was honestly the highlight of my trip. Based on how many people were packed into the place, I think it's safe to say that it's a favorite for locals and tourists alike.

As far as where we stayed, we actually skipped the hotel scene and went for an Airbnb. Basically, we stayed in a stranger's house for $90 a night, and it was fantastic. I don't think I'll ever stay in a hotel on vacation ever again.
