Honestly, this might be the easiest New Year's Resolution I've ever done. At the beginning of January, I decided to make it my goal to try 12 local restaurants I've never tried before (one per month). At this rate, I'm going to be way over that 12, because it's only February and I've already tried 4!

I have a list of suggestions that I am constantly adding to, but I'm not limiting myself to just that list. That's how I ended up at Quarter Barrel earlier this month. The thing is, I had already planned where I would be going this month, and I really wanted to try this place. So, without further ado, I present to you my original February restaurant destination... Reds Alehouse in North Liberty!

I started with their queso, because, let's face it, I'm a sucker for some good queso. It didn't disappoint!

For my meal, I had a tough time deciding between a burger or one of the many flatbreads. I didn't end up getting either, although my friend ordered the Margherita Flatbread and it looked AMAZING:

I went for something simple and delicious: the grilled cheese with BACON!

All the food tasted great, our waitress was super nice, and I was a big fan of the beer list. Overall, I had a great experience at Reds, and I hope to come back when it gets warmer so I can sit out on the patio! I LOVE a good patio!

Do you have any other restaurant suggestions for me? Feel free to leave them in the comments!
