Independence Day is right around the corner! With the Fourth of July comes things like fireworks and parties. We may not be able to set off fireworks here in Iowa, but there are still a number of things to be cautious of when it comes to the holiday.

Asecurelife.com compiled a list of the safest and most dangerous states on the Fourth of July by looking at two of the most common dangers (wildfires and impaired driving). States were ranked according to these risk factors.

Iowa fell somewhere in the middle. With #1 being the most dangerous, Iowa came in at #28 on the list. That's pretty safe! The most dangerous state was Oklahoma and Delaware ranked the safest. Safety is important, especially around holidays like this when there's a lot going on. Always make sure you have a sober driver and stay safe out there!
