Decorah Bald Eagle Found Dead

The Raptor Resource Project out of Decorah confirmed yesterday that one of its eagles was killed. The group says that the eagle was found along side a road between Maynard and Westgate Iowa.

Officials say that the bird, D25,  was likely scavenging on an animal carcass when it was hit by a vehicle. The eagle's nestmate, D24, is safe some 40 miles away.
