The nation's largest sporting goods retailer has announced it will stop selling assault-style rifles. Dick's Sporting Goods also says it will raise the minimum age for purchasing any gun to 21.

Dick's also announced that they will no longer sell high capacity magazines that allow shooters to fire more rounds of ammunition than a traditional magazine. The moves come in the wake of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. The gunman in that shooting that left 17 people dead, purchased a gun at a local Dick's Sporting Good's location. Officials say he did NOT purchase the AR-15 used in the shooting at Dick's.

Dick's stopped selling military-style assault weapons in its stores following the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012. But it still sold them in their 35 Field and Stream stores. Now, they'll be pulled from there too. Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, stopped selling military-style assault weapons back in 2015.

Dick's has locations in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Des Moines.
