As a child growing up in Old Lyme, Conn., BOB LACEY bused tables and washed dishes at his father's restaurant and fully understood that food service was not to be his life's calling. He took his first job as a radio newsreader at the tender age of 18, after realizing that his career fronting a New England rock band would never get him on the airwaves. He says his attraction to the industry stemmed from hanging out with deviant show biz types back stage at The Doors and The Byrds shows

Longtime music fan, I didn't catch the radio bug till college up at Winona State University in Minnesota. After that, well as they say, the rest is history. Once radio gets in your system, there's nothing else you can think of doing. And I'm glad that road has landed me here in Cedar Rapids. I'm not a born Cedar Rapidian, but am a Chicago burbs implant. First radio gig was doing mornings on Soft Rock KREZ in Cape Girardeau, MO, so being back on the format is a welcome home
Twenty five years and 50 plus recordings into his multi-faceted, ever-evolving musical career, John Tesh is finally ready to swing—not metaphorically as in the cliché “for the fences,” but literally. On his new Big Band collection and accompanying public television special distributed by APT titled “John Tesh Big Band Live!”, the keyboardist fronts a full blown ensemble and horn section playing Great American Songbook classics. The projects mark an all-time first for the lifelong musician—letting his lead vocals shine front and center
Lifelong radio fan, living on the air in Cedar Rapids for 15 years, 13 of them at KDAT. I love being part of the radio business in this community. Catch me on KDAT weekends and filling in during the week as needed. I enjoy following my Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears. I enjoy The Big Bang Theory and am a huge fan of Hall & Oates! Thanks for reading and for listening!
