This is hilarious. My son found a video on the web and passed it on [in a text attachment] to his Old Man. I took typing in high school. Didn't learn a thing on the old manual typewriter. I was too interested in AN ELECTRIC! Guess Dubuque Senior High School wasn't advanced enough at that time to get the latest technology.

One of the best ways to enjoy a meal at a restaurant is to have everyone in your party stack their cell phones in the middle of the table. No one can touch 'em. Try it sometime. Distraction-free bliss!

Anyway, back to typewriters: It took a radio copy writing position for a true crash course in the keyboard. I was inundated with massive amounts of daily typing. I figured it was then [1998] or never to learn the craft. So, somehow I taught myself to type. One would think that if you can get that skill down and tap out some prose efficiently, you should be able to learn the guitar. It's the same finger memorization, right? Wrong. At least for me.

Texting is efficient, especially when you're not in a social situation. I'll still take that old Corona manual typewriter from my Dad's office when eating.
