To answer the big question this time of year: yes, the Christmas music is coming soon to KDAT. In the meantime, we want to make sure Thanksgiving doesn't take a back seat in the holiday shuffle. We have a new contest called the KDAT Thanksgiving Dessert Recipe Contest and here's how it works.

Just enter your best Thanksgiving dessert recipe using this link. We'll begin posting them in our online recipe book Monday, November 21. Whether it's pies, cakes, cookies or any other kind of dessert, if it's a Thanksgiving staple for you and your family, we'll take it.

We have some great prizes to give away if we choose your recipe, including holiday CDs, tickets to "Elf: The Musical" at the Paramount Theatre, tickets to Orchestra Iowa's "Holiday Spectacular", and one lucky winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card!
