Actor Gary Sinise's Foundation will be holding a special "Walls of Honor" ceremony this Tuesday, featuring wounded warrior Taylor Morris and his family. It will include the unveiling of their new "smart home", designed to make the challenges faced from his injuries much easier.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17th, at the American Martyrs Retreat House: 2209 North Union Road, Cedar Falls, IA 50613.

Taylor Morris is a former EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) Tech 2 in the U.S. Navy. While serving in Afghanistan, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated beneath him, causing him to lose both arms and both legs. Taylor, now retired and married, noted in a press release,

“As soon as I stepped on it, I knew...Then I heard the blast. I felt the heat. I knew I had lost my legs

Taylor was aided in his recovery by his family and now-wife Danielle during a long recovery process. Needless to say, many tasks we all take for granted--climbing stairs, reaching high shelves and other seemingly simple tasks, are a huge challenge for Taylor.

We thank EOD Morris and his family for their service and sacrifice and wish them well in their new home.
