Additional Information

In September of 2015, Kevin Hunter was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized prostate cancer; shocking him and his family into making changes to prioritize their time together and his son Sam to end his contract with the Army to fight for our country, to fight for his dad and become a 3rd generation business owner instead.

As a start, in addition to local treatment, Kevin and Suzanne cut out all sugars, all alcohol and as much processed food as possible, they grew closer to God and closer as a family. Treatment that was expected to extend life expectancy for two years was effective for just shy of 9 months. The cancer was more aggressive than first thought, but they learned... this wasn’t just their journey to fight. Kevin took the time to get to know people with similar struggles everywhere. Fishing, at work, at church and even at the first Cubs game he took Meg to at Wrigley. He would pray with and for people at every turn.

While taking a next step to treatment at Cancer Center Treatments of America in Zion, Illinois, they became known as the “Hunter Clan” because they simply traveled in a pack! After two kinds of chemo, a little radiation and experimental immunotherapy over the next 1.5 years, they knew the immunotherapy was experimental and the “last traditional medicine option”, they needed to network, research and talk to others about a plan B. Plan B came in the form of Kevin and Suzanne taking 12 days in April of 2018 to do treatment out of the country doing a full detox and massive immune boost in an effort to kick cancer’s tail! Through this journey, as a family, they learned how to meditate, enhance their diet and other life alterations to create a healing environment for Kevin. It was truly an incredible experience.

If you know Kevin, Suzanne and the kids - you know they are private and independent people. Many of us have wanted to reach out to help in this battle over the last few years, but know this is a "get it done" family who relies heavily on each other and on prayer to get them through challenges.

With their blessing we are finally able to help this wonderful family! We are hosting a "FUN”raiser (because who hasn't had fun with this family???) on July 7, 2018 where ALL proceeds will go to the Hunter Family to continue doing what they need to do as the battle continues; paying future expenses, travel, and soaking up time together.
