In our house, as often as possible, Sunday's are all about family. We usually try to have some kind of outing planned, or at least some project we can work on together at home.  This week, the Kernels are making that super easy. Every Sunday home game is KDAT Family Day at the park, and there's always a bunch going on.  Like many kids, my kids will only sit and watch the game for so long. So it's great when there's other things to entertain them, like Baseball Bingo for the chance to win Twins tickets, as well as balloon art from Papa Balloon, face painting, and magic on the concourse.  And then after the game, there's the very cool "Run the bases", where the kids are allowed onto a professional baseball field.  Plus they get to meet the players, and play some catch with mom and dad, again, on a professional field.  It's just something fun and different.  I love it.

New this year, on the way in, if you drop off 10 items for Goodwill, you get a buy one, get one voucher for an upcoming Sunday game.  Nice perk.

Also, this Sunday, get the bikes out and bike to the park.  There'll be a special area to lock up the bikes inside the stadium. Plus, everyone who rides their bike to the game is entered into a drawing for additional prizes.  Now that my kids know how to ride their bikes, we're seriously considering this.

On top of all that, this is that one Sunday a year where they have the kids Home Run Derby, where kids 12 and under get to "swing for the fences".  The kids are divided into 4 different groups, so everyone has a chance.  Plus it's free. Only problem is I'm over 12, so I can't do it.  But if your KIDS want to, they highly recomend registering them ahead of time, which you can do here.

We'll be broadcasting from the game to start, with tickets to give away from upcoming games, so stop by and say Hi.  I can't wait.  It'll be a bunch of fun, as always!
