Is this election over yet? Politics are clearly sucking the life out of everyone this year, which makes it more frustrating than ever to see it bleed into things we turn to for an escape. At a recent Tampa show, about 200 people walked out on comedian Amy Schumer when she dove into an anti-Donald Trump rant.

There's a fine line between political jokes, which have always been a hallmark of great comedy shows, and full-on political tirades, a line which Schumer apparently crossed. According to reports, she brought up the lewd comments for which Trump has recently been under fire, and caused a number of paying customers, who were there to laugh, to leave in disgust.

Yes, Schumer is known as an outspoken Democrat and cousin of democratic senator Chuck Schumer of New York, so you generally know what you're getting into when you attend her shows. But fans who were hoping she'd leave the very worst elements of this election season out of her show and just entertain them were, unfortunately, let down.

“I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night!” she told EW. “I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We had a great time! We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”

With that many people staying behind to watch the rest of the show, this should barely put a dent in her career and reputation, nor will it likely cause her to adjust her style, but do you think she crossed the line? Would you have stayed or walked out? Share your thoughts in the comments.
