The career of an NFL running back can be fleeting. One minute you're a draft pick, and the next you're headed to the injured reserve. With injuries such a big part of the game, even running backs, not on rosters can find work. A former Hawkeye running back finds himself in just that position.

Iowa running back LeShun Daniels was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots in May of 2017. He was eventually waived by the Patriots. He spent time with the Chargers and Redskins before being signed to Washington's permanent roster in November of last year. Daniels played in four games before being put on the IR in December with a hand injury. He was released by the team in March of this year.

Enter the Green Bay Packers. Injuries at the position allowed them to sign Daniels to a free agent deal. He replaces running back Akeem Judd who was put on injured reserve. Will Daniels stick in Green Bay? The backfield is crowded already. His best bet might be to impress management during the final two preseason games and hope for a practice squad spot!
