Further evidence that the world is caving in on itself: The creator of Full House and Netflix revival series Fuller House has bought the iconic Painted Lady that boards his fictional Tanner Family. No way, Jose!, etc.

Jeff Franklin, who famously used the plot at 1709 Broderick St. in San Francisco's Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood for Full House external shots, told The Hollywood Reporter he knew he had to pick up the property when it went up for sale earlier this year. It originally popped up on the market at $4.15 million, but Franklin managed to buy it for about $4 million.

He added he knew the property would make for the ideal sitcom home base from the moment he spotted it in 1987.

"I wanted the family to live in one of those classic Victorian homes," he said. "For some reason, that one jumped out at me. There were lots of candidates but that was the winner."

Now, Franklin says he's looking forward to using the property in future Fuller House episodes (the second season will premiere later this month). The house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and while the layout has been described as sophisticated, Franklin says he aims to make it look a little more casual — as if the Tanner family could really live inside its walls. There will be six months' worth of construction, he said, and he's changing the front door from its current sea foam green color back to its recognizable red.

"I hope to bring the cast up to the house and have a big slumber party here so people can drive by and actually see the Tanner family living there for one whole day," Franklin explained. "That would be pretty fun."

Oh, and he might just open it up to outsiders soon.

"It's a shame to let it sit empty," he said. "I will be renting it out but I'm not sure yet what, where, when or how. At some point soon I will figure that out."

"I'm so sentimental about the house," Franklin concluded. "It's great to have the house in our Full House family and be able to preserve it for the fans...Seriously, I love owning this house."
