Fun & Games at The Cedar Rapids Beer Summit

The 2nd Annual Cedar Rapids Beer Summit is coming to the Doubletree Convention Complex on Saturday, March 11th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a special VIP hour (for extra time-spent-sampling) starting at 5 p.m.

This craft beer festival is like no other. You can sample over 100 tasty beers, lagers, ales, ciders and micro-brews. and enjoy live entertainment with the Big Mojo Band, back again for another rockin' performance!

In honor of good times and great brews, here are a list of the free-to-play fun and games that we'll have on hand for you to participate in:

Beer Pong:  What craft beer festival would be complete without an official beer pong game? We've got the solo cups, and we've got the balls. You bring your best game and we'll crown the ultimate winner.

Crownhole: Now you may be thinking to yourself, "What the heck is crownhole!?". Well, it's a new game that combines cornhole and quarters. Instead of playing with bags or quarters, you play with bottle caps (hence the crown part). If you've never played before, this is definitely one you'll have to try out.

Ladder Ball/ Ladder Golf: This game is always a fun one. Test out your ball swinging skills while you sip your night away.

KanJam: Now this one is really going to take some skill! Basically, you're throwing a Frisbee at a large can-shaped object with a slit near the top. Your goal --get the Frisbee in the hole. Easier said than done. Try it for yourself!

If none of these games tickle your fancy, here are some other (less physical) entertainment you can enjoy:

Jumbo Yahtzee: This has become one of our favorite over-sized games that we play. It's not as easy as it looks, but it sure is worth taking a shot at!

Don't Break The Ice - Don't Spill the Beans - Don't Pop The Pig: This a a three-game-gauntlet that you must skillfully navigate your way through with 100% success if you want to earn bragging rights.

Hawkeye Photo Booth: Don't forget to stop by the Hawkeye Photo Booth, a get a pic you and your pals can remember. This may get interesting....

And if all of that wasn't already enough, we'll also give you the chance to enter and win some great prizes including concert tickets to see Journey on April 3rd at the iWireless Center in Moline! You can sign up for these concert tickets the evening of the event, right at the Beer Summit entrance, no purchase necessary. We'll draw our winner at the end of the night, you need not be present to win.
