Look, there’s no easy way around it: the Game of Thrones thing we’ve all known was going to happen finally happened at the climax of Sunday’s “Home,” returning a fan-favorite. No longer the subject of intense scrutiny, said favorite has now apologized for lying to the fans all year, while showrunners take us inside the scene.

Full spoilers for last night’s Game of Thrones from here on out, but if you somehow managed to guess that Jon Snow would return to life at Melisandre’s hand, gold star for you! And, you know, about everyone else on the planet, but still! Kit Harington knows what you’ve been through all this time, and apologized as such via Entertainment Weekly:

Sorry! I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.

Fair enough, Lord Commander. Of course, there’s no guarantee that the literary Jon Snow will share the same fate, something showrunner David Benioff was careful to tiptoe around in the post-episode “Inside the Episode” featurette, and we’ll still have to wait until next week to learn the extent of Jon Snow’s condition, as well his next move.

In the meantime, you can check out the latest trailer below, stay tuned for more on the big resurrection, and tear down your giant conspiracy board. Back to The Walking Dead!
