Get ready to open your wallet just a little bit more. Gas prices are slowing rising across the state, and nation.

According to Fuel Gauge Report, the average price per gallon in Iowa now stands at state to an average of $2.10 per gallon. The national average has increased as well, up to $2.14 a gallon.

On the bright side of things, we are lower than we were last year at this time. Gas was averaging around $2.44 per gallon in late April of 2015.

Here's what they're paying all around the state from GasBuddy.com:

Cedar Rapids - $1.99 per gallon
Iowa City - $2.09 per gallon
Waterloo - $2.09 per gallon
Davenport - $1.91 per gallon
Des Moines - $2.33 per gallon

What happened here?! It was only two months ago we thought we could be headed toward dollar-a-gallon gasoline. Silly us, we should've known it was just a dream.
