This is probably not the kind of TV star most kids want to be.

Darby Risner, a 15-year-old girl from Trussville, Ala., recently scored a dose of internet infamy when she put on a Barney the dinosaur head, which promptly got stuck on her noggin.

So, how did this happen? Darby was at a sleepover with friends at a church when she spotted the prop, according to her mother:

Darby thought, 'I'm going to scare them when they come downstairs.' She put the Barney head on and when she sat down on the sofa to wait for them, it dropped. It slipped over her shoulders. When they finally came down, she got up and realized it had dropped so low, she couldn't get it off. It was digging into her."

No one on hand could free her from the head, so eventually Darby was taken to a firehouse, where one fireman could not help but marvel at the lunacy of the scene. "When they walked in, you couldn't help but start laughing," 33-year veteran Vince Bruno said. "We tried to be professional, and she was a little distraught, but we had to giggle about it."

Eventually, firefighters cut into the head to liberate Darby after 45 minutes of Barney-fied madness. Darby has also managed to find the humor in what happened. "I have laughed about it," she said.

And, for those of you who long to remember, here's Barney hard at work.
