UPDATE: Police now say a shooting in North Liberty was accidental. The victim initially stated that he didn't know who the shooter was. That report has turned out to be false, The shooting was accidental. The investigation continues.

Police in North Liberty continue to investigate a shooting that left one person injured. The incident happened in the Golf View mobile home court. Police officials say that at around 3:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, someone shot a 19-year-old man in the leg. That shooter remains at large.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. He told police that he did not know his attacker. The shooter is described as a black male, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt. Anyone with information on the shooter is urged to call Crimestoppers at 358-TIPS.
