What would it sound like if your favorite old-school band or artist was covered by modern musicians? You can just mentally hear a band or artist covering your favorite songs perfectly. Such an idea occurred to me recently, so here is my dream Hall & Oates tribute compilation track listing, in no particular order.

John Legend - "One on One"

Imagine Dragons - "Out Of Touch"

Ed Sheeran - "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)"

Taylor Swift - "Kiss on My List"

Bruno Mars - "Maneater"

Train - "Possession Obsession"

OneRepublic - "Some Things are Better Left Unsaid"

Katy Perry - "Say It Isn't So"

Fall Out Boy - "Adult Education"

Sam Smith - "Sara Smile"

John Mayer - "Rich Girl"

Nico & Vinz - "She's Gone"

The Bird and the Bee - "Private Eyes" (This is a duo I discovered a couple years ago on the internet who actually did their own Hall & Oates tribute compilation, and I was blown away by their version of Private Eyes. Check it out below.)

BONUS TRACK - Allen Stone, an artist who could make my dreams come true if he were to sing "You Make My Dreams" at the NewBo Music Festival on August 8th. Meanwhile, enjoy this performance by Allen of one his own songs alongside Daryl Hall himself, from "Live from Daryl's House"!

Would you do the above song/artist pairings differently? Are there any current artists you think would do a good job on an old favorite? Name them below in the comments.
