It's not much fun to follow politics right now. I get it. There's simply too much bickering and fighting, sometimes even within one party! But Iowa, we can do better than this! According to a new survey, one-third of Iowans can't name the governor of our state!

Let's get formalities out of the way. Iowa's governor is Kim Reynolds. How she got to be our governor is a little bit unusual. When you say the phrase 'Iowa Governor' the name Terry Branstad comes to mind. Why wouldn't it? He is a two-time governor of our state. But if you remember, Branstad was chosen by President Trump to be the U.S. Ambassador to China. After his congressional approval, Branstad stepped down as governor and his lieutenant governor, Reynolds, was sworn in. There, we're officially caught up.

The Morning Consult's poll found that 30% of Iowans either don't know or have no opinion of Reynolds, making her the least known governor in the U.S. Now you don't have to agree or disagree with Reynolds and her politics. But as a resident of the state of Iowa, you at least ought to know who your governor is!
