A 32-year-old man is facing three charges as the death of a 56-year-old Hiawatha woman continues.

Friday (12/2) morning at around 8:40, Hiawatha Police responded after receiving a number of calls about a naked man in the 700 block of North Center Point Road. That man has been identified as 32-year-old Joseph Hubbard of Hiawatha. The investigation led to more information.

Twenty-six minutes after the call about Hubbard, Hiawatha Police conducted a welfare check on 56-year-old Deborah Roman at 213 Sunset Lane in Hiawatha. She was deceased and her body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office. Hubbard lived in the Sunset Lane address as well. An autopsy was conducted Sunday with the results pending. Her death continues to be investigated as a suspicious death.

Hubbard has been charged with 2nd Degree Arson, 3rd Degree Burglary, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury. A release from the Hiawatha Police Department says the charges are for "alleged activities away from 213 Sunset Lane." KCRG says court records accuse Hubbard of breaking into New Beginnings Church, 910 Boyson Court in Hiawatha, Friday morning. Once inside, he's accused of taking off his clothes, pouring gasoline in the building, and hitting another man in the face.

Hiawatha Police are working with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation on the case and say they do not consider there to be a danger to the public.
