Hilary Duff Channels Grown-Up Lizzie McGuire in ‘Chasing the Sun’ Video

For Hilary Duff fans missing the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ days, we have some good news: She’s kind of like an all-grown-up version of the character in the music video for her new single, ‘Chasing the Sun’ — only if Lizzie worked in a corporate office and fantasized about a beach hottie rubbing sunscreen on her back.

In the vid for the summery song (both of which dropped on July 29), Duff plays a frazzled employee desperate to get out of the office and onto the beach. In fact, she fantasizes about her dream vacation so much that she accidentally acts it out in the office, running into a glass wall thinking that she’s slow motion, ‘Baywatch’-style running into the arms of her beach guy and even allowing the office creep to rub suntan lotion onto her arms, thinking it’s her dream man.

But the breaking point for the rest of the staff is when Duff starts tossing water on everyone (and their laptops!) during a meeting, while she thinks that she’s splashing in the water instead. Yikes! Spoiler alert: Duff’s character ultimately gets fired — but at least she can go on a real vacay now. (And it’s kind of worth it to see the employees’ hilarious reaction!)
