It's been described by Slate as "the world's newest, tastiest cult." Instant Pots were the top-selling kitchen item in the U.S. and around the world on Black Friday last November on Amazon, according to Business Wire. The customer reviews for their products are crazy good. I've ordered one and am just waiting for it to arrive! There's no denying Instant Pots are HOT. However, one model is getting too hot.

Instant Pot has posted a warning about the Gem 65 8-in-1 Instant Pot. The post says they've "received a small number of reports of the Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker overheating, resulting in localized melting damage to the underside of the product." The warning goes on to say they believe the only Instant Pots affected by this problem are from batches with codes 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734, and 1746. A silver label on the bottom of the product will have the four-digit batch code number.

If your Instant Pot DOES have one of those four-digit numbers, DO NOT use it. If you have questions, you can reach Instant Pot's Customer Care department at 800-828-7280, extension 2.

You can read the Instant Pot statement on their Facebook page HERE.
